Hello! I’m Ian Shay, a sophomore from Rice Lake, WI. I am studying for a Spanish major,
as well as LALACS and Peace Studies minors. I play tuba in the Gustavus Wind Orchestra,
work as a Spanish composition tutor, and am involved in Building Bridges, a group that
put on a conference on human trafficking this year. My junior year of high school, I went
on foreign exchange to Vallenar, Chile, where I attended school, stayed with a host
family, and began to take an interest in social justice issues. This coming academic year
I plan to study abroad in Lima, Peru, and after college, I hope to join the Peace Corps.
In my free time, I love to read, converse over tea, and bake bread!!
