What LALACS students are doing in class Posted on March 8th, 2011 by

They could be examining the impact of tourism on Latin America and the Caribbean in a course on Globalization.

Suzanne Wilson, Professor of LALACS and Sociology/Anthropology: “One of the most interesting books for students in the course is Last Resorts: The Cost of Tourism in the Caribbean by Polly Pattullo.  Students have often traveled to the Caribbean or Mexico as tourists. So, the topic interests them — as does learning more about the impact of tourism on local cultures, economies, and the environment.”
