Latin American, Latino & Caribbean Studies at Gustavus: Meet Whitney O’Connell Posted on March 8th, 2011 by

Whitney O'Connell, Junior LALACS minor

¡Hola! My name is Whitney O’Connell and I am a junior Spanish and History double major with a LALACS minor. I am currently studying abroad in Valparaíso, Chile and living in Viña del Mar – the most beautiful place on earth!

At Gustavus I am really involved in the Community Service Center through the Hoffmann Center, Habitat for Humanity Spring Break Work Trips, and I also am on the Colleges Against Cancer committee. I am a Greeter and Ambassador at school and spend a lot of time in the CVR.

Earlier this year I did a two-month internship at a domestic violence shelter in Indianapolis, Indiana and I absolutely loved it. I am working on being fluent in Spanish….not there quite yet! I recently took the LSAT and am hoping to apply to various law schools for Immigration law. I will just have to see where the wind takes me! ¡Adiós!
