Meet Jennifer Hernández, LALACS minor Posted on September 29th, 2011 by

My name is Jennifer Hernandez and I’m a Junior International Management major and LALACS / Spanish double minor. I’m originally from San Salvador, El Salvador but I came to the U.S. when I was thirteen. Before moving to my new home – Bloomington, Minnesota – I grew up living in a house on the foothills of San Salvador’s volcano, “El Boquerón,” which has an amazing view of El Salvador’s natural, lush, and absolutely beautiful scenery!

On campus, I’m involved in OLAS, the Spanish Club, Crossroads and intramural soccer. Aside from those extracurricular activities, I work for the Drug and Alcohol Education Office (aka the PAs) and I am also a Spanish tutor at nights. This semester I am the Spanish and LALACS assistant.

During my free time, I like to play soccer, listen to music and every once in a while dance in my room to some salsas, cumbias or merengues! I enjoy meeting new people and I love learning about other people’s cultures.
